What It Is

Optimize the Connection Between You and Your Bike

A bike fit isn't just about adjusting your saddle or handlebars. We look at the rider and the bike,or multiple bikes and injuries as a system—considering your mobility, strength, movement patterns, riding position, injury history, and individual goals.

Whether you're riding for recreation, training for your next race, logging gravel miles, or trying to get back on the bike after an injury, a proper fit can help you ride more comfortably, efficiently, and confidently.

Dr. Jon Freckleton, DO

Physician · Cyclist · Nordic Skier · Coach · Athlete

We’re excited to offer bike fitting with Dr. Jon Freckleton, DO, bringing together his background in medicine, osteopathic care, endurance sports, and years of experience as an athlete and coach.

Jon is a board-certified family physician and osteopathic physician with a lifelong connection to cycling and Nordic skiing. His experience as an endurance athlete gives him a unique understanding of what it means to spend hours training and competing on a bike.

His approach goes beyond simply measuring angles and making adjustments. He considers the person on the bike — their anatomy, movement, goals, training demands, and overall health.

That philosophy fits perfectly with WEST. We don’t believe in simply treating the painful body part or telling you to stop doing the activity you love. We want to help you build the capacity to keep doing it.

The bike matters. The body matters. The way they work together matters.

What We Evaluate

The goal isn't to put every cyclist into the same “perfect” position.

It's to find the position that works best for YOUR body, YOUR bike, and YOUR goals.

Your bike fit is individualized to you and may include assessment of:
  • Riding position and bike setup
  • Mobility and flexibility
  • Strength and movement control
  • Pedaling mechanics
  • Saddle height and position
  • Handlebar position and reach
  • Cleat and foot position
  • Lower-extremity alignment
  • Areas of pain, numbness, or discomfort
  • Riding goals and performance demands

🚲 One Important Detail

Bike fits are scheduled and priced per bike.

Each bike has its own geometry and setup. If you would like to have multiple bikes evaluated, please contact us before your appointment so we can plan appropriately and schedule additional time if needed.

An initial physical therapy evaluation is required prior to a bike fit.

Initial Fit & Follow-Up

Initial Bike Fit Assessment

Up to 90 minutes. A comprehensive bike fit designed to optimize comfort, efficiency, and performance. We will assess your riding position, mobility, strength, movement patterns, and bike setup to identify adjustments that may help reduce pain, improve power transfer, and enhance your overall riding experience.

Please Bring

  • Your clean bike
  • Cycling shoes and cleats/pedals
  • Helmet and typical riding gear
  • Comfortable athletic clothing
  • Any relevant concerns, pain, or performance goals
  • Previous bike fit measurements or setup notes, if available

Bike Fit Follow-Up

60 minutes. Your bike fit doesn’t necessarily end when you leave the clinic. Once you’ve had a chance to ride and spend time in your new position, you may discover additional questions, discomfort, or opportunities for refinement. A follow-up appointment allows us to reassess your setup, review how you’ve responded to previous adjustments, and make additional modifications as needed.

Please Bring

  • Your bike
  • Cycling shoes and typical riding gear
  • Any feedback from your riding since your initial fit
