One-on-One, Every Visit60-Minute SessionsNo Referral Needed
Every Appointment
60min
One-on-One
Dedicated, undivided time with a licensed, experienced physical therapist. As we grow, you may occasionally work with support staff under Dr. Mackenzie's direct supervision — and she stays actively involved in your care throughout.
The Approach

Care Built Entirely Around You

From your very first visit, you work directly with your physical therapist for the full session. No crowded schedules, no being passed between techs — just focused, one-on-one attention.

Our approach is integrative and personalized: we combine hands-on treatment, targeted exercise, and education to treat the root cause, not just the symptom. The whole plan is built around one goal — getting you back to the activities you love.

Your Care, Step by Step

A Simple, Two-Step Path

Every patient follows the same clear path — it starts with a thorough evaluation, then continues with focused follow-ups that keep your progress moving.

1
Step 01

Your Initial Evaluation

Required for Every New Patient & New Injury

An initial evaluation appointment at W.E.S.T. Physical Therapy is required for all new patients and new injuries or cases. This comprehensive session helps your therapist understand your current condition and create a personalized treatment plan.

During the evaluation, the following assessments may be included:

What Happens
  • Comprehensive orthopedic physical therapy evaluation
  • Functional movement screening
  • Postural assessment
  • Pain and mobility assessments
  • Women’s pelvic floor therapies
  • All initial evaluations are dedicated one-on-one appointments with a licensed experienced Physical Therapist for 60 minutes.

The outcome: This appointment establishes the foundation for your treatment and recovery, ensuring care is tailored to your individual needs.

Step 02

Ongoing Follow-Ups

Recommended Throughout · Initial Evaluation Required First

A follow-up appointment at W.E.S.T. Physical Therapy is designed to monitor progress, adjust your treatment plan, and ensure continued improvement toward your goals. These appointments are strongly recommended after the initial evaluation and throughout your rehabilitation or wellness program. Initial Evaluation appointments are required prior to follow-up sessions. During a follow-up session, your therapist may:

What Happens
  • Review your progress since the last visit
  • Adjust exercises and treatment techniques as needed
  • Reassess pain, mobility, and functional movement
  • Provide guidance on home exercise programs and activity modifications
  • Address any new concerns or changes in your condition
  • All follow-up sessions are dedicated one-on-one appointments with a licensed experienced Physical Therapist for 60 minutes.

The outcome: Follow-up appointments help maintain consistent progress and ensure your care remains personalized and effective.

Before Your First Visit

How to Prepare

A few simple things to make your first appointment smooth. Final details to be confirmed by the clinic.

What to Wear

Come prepared to expose the body region being evaluated or treated. For a knee, hip, or lower-body issue, wear shorts; for a shoulder, neck, or upper-body issue, wear a tank top or sleeveless shirt so Dr. Mackenzie can assess and treat the area easily. Appropriate clothing helps maximize your treatment time.

When to Arrive

Please make sure to complete your patient intake forms when booking your appointment to ensure a smooth check-in process.

What to Bring

Bring a photo ID, your insurance card if you plan to submit for reimbursement, any relevant imaging or surgical reports, and a list of current medications. Comfortable shoes you can move in are helpful too.

Referral & Insurance

A referral isn't required to see a physical therapist. Referrals are most often needed only for insurance reimbursement, and many of the plans we're in-network with don't require one. As a courtesy, we're happy to run a no-cost insurance eligibility check — and for plans we're not in-network with, we provide a superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Questions

New Patient FAQ

Do I need a referral? +
A referral is not required to see a physical therapist as a direct-pay client. Referrals are most commonly needed for insurance reimbursement, though many of the insurance plans we are in-network with do not require one for physical therapy. As a courtesy, we are happy to perform an insurance eligibility check at no cost to you to help clarify your individual benefits and requirements. And while a referral isn't always necessary, we love collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers whenever possible — it helps us better understand your medical history and build the most comprehensive treatment plan for you.
What should I wear? +
Please come prepared to expose the body region being evaluated or treated. For lower-extremity injuries, wear shorts. For shoulder, neck, or upper-extremity conditions, wear a tank top or sleeveless shirt. Wearing appropriate clothing helps maximize treatment time and allows for a more thorough evaluation.
Will I work with Dr. Mackenzie? +
Appointments are one-on-one, 60-minute sessions with Dr. Morgan Mackenzie. As W.E.S.T. Physical Therapy grows, patients may occasionally work with support staff under Morgan's direct supervision, but Morgan remains actively involved in your care throughout your treatment experience.
How many visits will I need? +
It depends on your goals and condition. After your evaluation you'll receive a personalized plan with a clear sense of how many visits to expect and what progress looks like. Because every session is focused and hands-on, many active patients need fewer visits. If you're recovering from an acute injury or surgery, expect a higher frequency of visits initially — many post-operative protocols call for two to three visits per week for several weeks. As healing progresses and independence improves, visits are often spaced farther apart. Many W.E.S.T. patients then graduate from active rehabilitation into package-based prevention and wellness care — such as our Promotion for Prevention (12 visits over 12 months), our 6-Visit Package (one visit every other month), and our Seasonal Package (4 visits throughout the year) — to stay strong and ahead of injury.
Do you accept my insurance? +
W.E.S.T. Physical Therapy is currently in-network with select insurance plans. Please visit our Insurance & Billing page for the most current list of accepted insurers. As a courtesy, our billing manager, Lisa Snavely (lisa@sevansjh.com), can perform an insurance eligibility check to help you better understand your benefits. While we are happy to verify information when possible, patients remain responsible for understanding their individual insurance coverage, deductibles, copays, and authorization requirements. For plans we are not in-network with, we can provide a superbill that may be submitted for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your individual benefits.
